August 4 – 6, 2017

Celebrating the city’s legendary and long-time City Councilwoman Mrs. Ruthe Jackson’s life of service, fresh figs from her garden, fig preserves and fudge will be sold at the Grand Prairie Farmers Market on August 5.
Loyd Park presents The Karate Kid on the lake beach on August 5. The entrance fee into the park is $10 per vehicle and drinks and concessions are available for purchase at the beach or the Camp Store.
August 11 – 13, 2017
Watch Grand Prairie’s very own minor league baseball team as they take on the Cleburne RailRoaders August 11-13. Come in all pink on Aug. 11 for “Pink in the Park” night or come for the fireworks show on the 12 for “Boy Scout Night.” Aug. 13 is “Sunday Funday” which means post game the kiddos get to run the bases!
Rod Stewart with special guest Cyndi Lauper will be at the Verizon Theatre August 11 for a show you don’t want to miss. Doors open at 6:30 pm and the show begins at 7:30 pm. Purchase tickets here www.axs.com.
This outdoor event, hosted by Hong Kong Market Place in partnership with Saigon Radio 1600 AM and Forever Yes, will take place for 3 days, August 11-13 from 5 pm until midnight. Free mini concerts with genres ranging from Classic to modern. Aside from the music, those in attendance will get to experience all the diverse foods.
In honor of the late great King of rock n roll, the Grand Prairie Farmers Market will be hosting an Elvis tribute day Saturday, August 12. Come out and hear the hits of Elvis along with a performance from the Toloa Polynesian Dance Troop.

$1 Hot Dog Day is coming to Traders Village August 12. Good food, great deals and tons of family fun. Live entertainment will be under the Big Red Patio near the rides and family area.
August 18 – 20, 2017
Get some hot roasted Hatch chiles at the Grand Prairie Farmers Market’s annual Hatch Chile Fest. Join us on August 19, from 8 am – 2 pm for live music, food and more. Hatch chile peppers, both fresh and roasted, will be available for purchase while supplies last.

Tejano Music Fest is a free outdoor concert on August 20 with live music, games, prizes and more. The concert will take place in the Big Red Patio next to the family entertainment area.

Live like a local for a day and join Grand Prairie Mayor, Ron Jensen, for a stroll through downtown for the Grand Prairie Farmers Market “Strollin’ with the Mayor” beginning at 8 am on Saturday, August 26.
