Friday, July 28
Party at the Park – Lone Star Park
Enjoy live racing and live music by the Time Machine with drink specials from 7 p.m. – 10 p.m. in the Courtyard of Champions. The first race begins at 6:35 p.m. This weekend is the last weekend for Thoroughbred season. Quarter horse season starts Sept. 15.
CMT’s Nashville in Concert – Verizon Theatre
Catch some of the cast of “Nashville” in Grand Prairie as they feature songs from the hit series as well as the artists’ original material. The doors open at 7 p.m. and the show starts at 8 p.m.
Saturday, July 29
Craft Fair Day – Farmers Market
In addition to our weekly farmers and vendors, a number of craft vendors will be at the Grand Prairie Farmers Market selling homemade crafts, jewelry, art and much more! The farmers market is open every Saturday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Live Racing – Lone Star Park
It’s fan appreciation night at the park! Come out for Lone Star Park’s last weekend of Thoroughbred season. First race starts at 5 p.m.
I Love the 90’s: The Party Continues Tour – Verizon Theatre
Throwin’ it back to the 90’s this Saturday with I Love the 90’s tour! Artists will feature TLC, Naughty by Nature, Blackstreet, Tone Loc, C+C Music Factory featuring Freedom Williams and SNAP. The doors open at 6 p.m. and the show starts at 7:30 p.m.
Movies on the Beach – Loyd Park
Loyd Park presents Finding Dory on the beach this Saturday! Entrance to the park is only $10 and you will be able to buy drinks and concessions at the Camp Store. (Tip: bring towels or lawn chairs to sit on.) The movie starts at 8:30 p.m.
Sunday, July 30
Tailgate Competition – Loyd Park
Loyd Park is looking for the biggest meat grilling, corn hole playing, Texas- Ranger supporting, tailgate-having sports fan to compete in this inaugural competition! Come check out the awesome tailgate set ups and see who wins!
Closing Day – Lone Star Park
It’s officially closing day for Thoroughbred live racing! Join Lone Star Park for an afternoon full of live racing, awards and more! First race starts at 2:35 p.m. (Tip: bring a Pepsi Can for free admission into the park along with a free Pepsi.)
Texas AirHogs v. Railcats – AirHogs Stadium
The Texas AirHogs are Grand Prairie’s very own minor league baseball team. Nothing like a Sunday filled with baseball. The game starts at 7:05 p.m.
Idina Menzel – Verizon Theatre
Actress, singer and songwriter, Idina Menzel will be at the Verizon Theatre this Sunday for a show you don’t want to miss! The doors open at 7 p.m. and the show starts at 8 p.m.
