The number one rated Farmers Market in Texas – Grand Prairie Farmers Market – opens for the 2018 season on Saturday, April 7!
One of our favorite things about the Grand Prairie Farmers Market is the fun community atmosphere! Not only are you greeted with that southern hospitality Texas is known for, but you also can feel like part of the Grand Prairie community.
Fresh Fruits & Veggies
Headed to Joe Pool Lake for camping or a day on the water? Pack a picnic to take with you! You can find all kinds of yummy treats from peaches and strawberries to salad greens and more. The food is straight from the farm so you can enjoy the fresh taste.
You can also find other delicious goodies like honey, chips and dips, relishes, and baked goods to pack in your lunch sack.
Take a little of Grand Prairie home with you by shopping the market. You can find handmade items, like wooden cutting boards with an engraved Texas outline, bowls and plates, custom made pens, colorful paintings, and more.
Grand Prairie Farmers Market has something for foodies, art-lovers… and well, everyone! With a plentiful number of vendors at every market, you’re sure to find that unique treasure.
Live Music and Performances
What is shopping without some festive music? Grand Prairie Farmers Market showcases local talent throughout the year with live music and performances taking the stage around 10 a.m. at almost every market.
If you’re lucky enough to be there when the Mariachi Sol Azteca band or the AANC Ballet Folklorico dancers perform, you can really capture some Grand Prairie culture. Sit back, relax and watch the talented Grand Prairie performers enlighten you with Hispanic art.
The market entertains its guests throughout the year with festive events! It has everything from a Crawfish Boil and Hatch Chile Fest to Car and Jeeps Shows and cooking demos. Plus, the market hosts Craft Fair Days where homemade crafts, jewelry, art, woodwork and more are for sale and a Meet the Author’s Day where you can meet local authors, buy books and get autographs.
When the leaves start to fall, the market gears into the Autumn and Christmas season! Visit the market for a great photo-op with pumpkins, scarecrows and hay bales in the fall and Christmas trees and Santa in December!
The late seasons also bloom great events, such as Octoberfest, Halloween Street-n-Treat, Chile Tastings and the Thanksgiving and Christmas markets. In addition to the traditional market commodities, you can find pumpkins, blankets and other fall and winter goodies to warm your heart.
