It’s officially fall! It’s time to start dragging out the pumpkin carving tools and thinking of Halloween costume ideas. With fall comes fall festivals and other fun and festive events all throughout the season. We’ve put together a list of the top fall things to do this season!

Mid-Autumn Festival

Sept. 21 – Sept. 23, 2018
Asia Times Square – 2615 W. Pioneer Parkway

This annual event is one of Asia Times Square’s largest events of the year. The three-day festival will include great food, music, carnival games, lion dances, a lantern parade, multicultural performances and much more.


EpicFest

Epic Central – 2960 Epic Place

The City of Grand Prairie Parks, Arts & Recreation Department is hosting the first ever Epic Fest: Featuring Flight of the Monarch. This free event is to welcome everyone to the new park, highlight the Flight of the Monarch and to educate the community on all diverse cultures and backgrounds that make up Grand Prairie. Be sure to enjoy a variety of Flight of the Monarch activities, live entertainment, educational components, multi-cultural performances, vendors, lawn games, food, and beer gardens.


Sister Act

Oct. 5-7 & Oct. 12-14, 2018
Uptown Theater – 120 E. Main Street 

The Grand Prairie Arts Council presents, Sister Act, a disco diva, Deloris Van Cartier, witnesses a murder, she is put in protective custody in the one place the cops are sure she won’t be a found: a convent! Disguised as a nun, she finds herself at odds with both the rigid lifestyle and uptight Mother Superior. Filled with powerful gospel music, outrageous dancing, and a truly moving story, Sister Act will leave you breathless


Farmers Market Free Pumpkin Day

Farmers Market – 120 W. Main Street 

Grand Prairie Farmers Market is giving away free pumpkins on Saturday, October 13! The first 75 families will each receive a free pumpkin starting at 8 a.m. with additional market purchase, while supplies last. (No rain checks. Limit one per family.)


Pumpkin Run

Oct. 13, 2018
Lynn Creek Park – 5610 Lake Ridge Pkwy

The 32nd annual Pumpkin Run presented by the Grand Prairie Metro Rotary Club has fall fitness and fun for the whole family! A 1-mile fun run will kick-start the event at 8 a.m. followed by a 10K run and 5K run/walk at 8:30 a.m. Free pumpkin decorating, face painting, team challenges, and a free “Waffle Way” pancake breakfast with delicious bacon from Outlaws BBQ.


Fall Tejano Festival

Oct. 20, 2018
Traders Village – 2602 Mayfield Rd. 

The festival will feature live Tejano music from the most popular Tejano bands, DJ’s playing games, and more all under the Big Red Patio. Traders Village is America’s #1 Marketplace with tons of fun for the whole family!


KEGL Freakers’ Ball Featuring Ghost

Oct. 25, 2018
The Theatre at Grand Prairie – 1001 Performance Place

KEGL Freakers’ Ball featuring Ghost, Jonathan Davis, Underoath, The Fever 333 and Badflower. The show starts at 6:30 p.m. and the doors open at 5 p.m.


Fiesta Mexicana de Otono

Traders Village – 2602 Mayfield Rd. 

LATV and La Mexicana 87.7 FM will have a live event under the Big Red Patio at Traders Village. This event is for the entire family and will feature a great afternoon of music. La Mexicana 87.7 will also be giving away prizes and more. Admission to Traders Village is FREE and it’s just $4.00 to park.

Prairie Lights

Nov. 22 – Dec. 30, 2018
Lynn Creek Park – 5610 Lake Ridge Parkway

Upon arriving at the entrance of Prairie Lights,  you will be dazzled with 4 million lights set along 2 miles of path. Hundreds of ALL-NEW displays in shapes of all kinds line and arch over the roads. Halfway through the drive get out of your car for a stop at Holiday Village where you will find food, gifts, Santa, a brand-new indoor Holiday Show, and the Holiday Magic Lighted Walk-Through Forest. Once back in your vehicle, the second half of the drive ends with the very animated light tunnel – the perfect finale to a night you will never forget!
