New Outdoor Wave Pool Opens at Epic Waters Indoor Waterpark

The best place to beat the North Texas heat this summer is at Epic Waves, the newest attraction at Epic Waters Indoor Waterpark in Grand Prairie.

Following a sneak preview at the inaugural Epic Plunge event held in February 2019, this beautiful outdoor wave pool opened recently to rave reviews from waterpark guests who were among the first to ride the waves during the pool’s sunny grand opening weekend in May. Watch a video.

As the name suggests, Epic Waves’ signature feature is the simulated surge of thrilling four-foot high waves that run at 10 minute intervals throughout the day.

Younger guests and those who are looking for a milder experience can still enjoy the water via the pool’s beach entry.

Other features of the 10,000 square-foot, 300,000 gallon wave pool include a pool deck featuring shaded and unshaded areas, seating areas, umbrella tables, chaise lounge chairs, and an outdoor concession area.

The wave pool will remain open until Labor Day weekend and is open to guests of all ages. Access to the wave pool is included in the cost of admission.

Other attractions at Epic Waters include water slides offering thrills from mild to wild, the longest indoor not-so-lazy river in Texas (featuring periodic wave surge), the FlowRider® surfing simulator, a children’s play area, the Epic Arcade, and the Hungry Wave Café. Find out more.

New this season: In addition to the new wave pool, guests have another new entertainment option this summer in the form of the Epic Combo, a “wet-dry” admission package that provides day-long access to facilities and programming at The Epic, the waterpark’s sister property that is located across the corridor from Epic Waters. The Epic is a 120,000 square-foot fitness, arts, and entertainment destination that opened in November. Learn more.
